2004 Chrysler Concorde Brake Master Cylinder Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Brake Master Cylinder on 2004 Chrysler Concorde?
A: Disconnect the wire connector for the brake fluid level switch at the side of the reservoir, remove the primary tube and secondary tube from the brake master cylinder housing and put plugs on their ends. Take away the 2 nuts joining the brake master cylinder to the power brake vacuum booster, then straighten out the brake master cylinder before freeing it. The brake master cylinder needs to be bled before you install it when it is replaced or fixed. Secure the brake master cylinder on the power brake vacuum booster studs, being sure that the booster push rod is in line with the brake master cylinder piston. Install the mounting nuts on the brake master cylinder and tighten them so the torque reaches 28 Nm or 250 inch lbs. Attach the brake tubes to both ports of the brake master cylinder and tighten each connection to 17 Nm (145 inch lbs.) torque. When you're done, check the brake fluid level and add Mopar Brake Fluid or an alternative if it needs it. In the instance that air has entered your system through the brake line, it will need to be bled entirely from the base hydraulic system.
