To repair the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) disconnect negative battery cable, remove the throttle Position Sensor and check to confirm that it fits correctly into throttle shaft. Screws should be tightened to 5.1 N.m (45 in.lbs.) and the throttle plate should be closed, then the electrical connector should be reconnected and then the battery cable should be re-installed.
