    When servicing or repairing the Throttle Position Sensor, first take off the negative Battery Cable. Start by removing the connector on the TPS wiring and unscrewing all the screws that hold the TPS, before lifting it out. When installing, put the Throttle Body into the TPS so the shaft end goes into the socket and the two internal tabs support the shaft. When the indexing is accurate, the TPS can rotate ever so slightly, positioning its screw holes against those on the throttle body and it feels slightly tight when propped into place. If turning the sensor is hard, slot it into the connector and cover so the throttle shaft is opposite the tabs on the sensor. Screw the mounts in place using a 5.1 N.m (45 in.lbs.) torque, preferably with a torque tester. Install the TPS properly, making sure the throttle plate is closed; if it's not, move the sensor to the other side of the tabs. Connect the TPS electrical connector back and put the negative battery cable into place again.
