2004 Chrysler Crossfire Sway Bar Kit Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Front Sway Bar Kit on 2004 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: Remove the right and left lower control arm sway bar kit brackets first and then take off the sway bar kit bracket from the retainer bracket. After that, release the retainer bracket and the bracket mounting plate, remove the bar from the car and get rid of all its bushings too. First, attach the right and left sway bar kit bushings to the sway bar kit and in some cases, raise the lower control arms to help the bushings fit their mates. Secure the sway bar kit by putting the bolts and nuts loosely into the four brackets, then make sure the bar is placed right in the middle of the vehicle. First, attach the hexagon socket bolt where the bracket preload is used, then tighten both sway bar kit bolts to the frame and lastly attach the hexagon socket bolts to the retainer. Tighten the lower arm to sway bar kit bracket nuts using 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.) as torque. Should the retainer and mounting plate come off, reinstall them and fasten the retainer bolt to the frame at 60 Nm (44 ft. lbs.), lower retainer nut to the fastening bracket at 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.) and upper retainer lever nut to the bracket at 40 Nm (29 ft. lbs.). Next, adjust the car back to the ground and make sure the alignment is correct.
