How to Properly Service and Repair an Engine Oil Filter on 2004 Chrysler Sebring?

Before starting, put the vehicle on a hoist and undershield the oil collecting container beneath the oil filter. Put the remove/install tool band strap against the base lock seam of the can (reinforced by the base plate) to avoid bending the filter can while replacing or installing. Turn the oil filter counterclockwise, using an appropriate filter wrench, to detach it. Before installing, wash and check the space where you will mount the filter to make sure it is smooth, level and contains no debris or pieces of gasket. After applying a tiny amount of clean engine oil to the new oil filter's gasket, place the filter on the engine and tighten it to 21 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
