2004 Dodge Caravan Air Duct Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair the Air Duct for the Supplemental Cabin Heater on 2004 Dodge Caravan?
A: Before servicing or repairing the auxiliary cabin heater's air intake pipe, drain the engine cooling system. Disconnect the clamps at the lower heater tube and lower EGR tube on the car beneath the hood, then also take off the clamp on the cabin heater air intake muffler. After that, free the clamp that connects the flexible tube to the steel tube and remove the two retaining screws to get rid of the cabin heater air intake and heater pipe assembly. Initial installation requires placing the air intake pipe assembly and tightening the two retaining screws, each at a torque of 7 Nm (62 in. lbs.). Join the steel tube to the flexible tube, position everything and lock the retaining clamp firmly in place. Attach the flexible tube to the cabin heater air intake muffler and put and tighten the clamp to keep it in place. Attach the cabin heater tubes to both ends of the lower heater and EGR cooler connections once again, tightening the retaining clamps. Lift the vehicle a little, top off the engine cooling fluid and turn on the cabin heater to make sure it works.
