2004 Dodge Dakota Wiper Blade Parts and Q&A
Q: What Precautions Should You Take When Servicing Wiper Blades on 2004 Dodge Dakota?
A: When servicing wiper blades, it is important to remember that the two sides cannot be switched, because the driver's side has extra parts and eight claws and the passenger's side has just six claws. Be certain to place the notched end of each wiper element towards the wiper pivot. Beginning with the wiper knob in the on position, switch on the ignition and move the wiping blades to where you find them most useful. Open the wipers arm upward to lift the blade above the glass, press the latch release under the arm and slide the vane at the handle's end to remove it from the hook. Do not let the wiper arm spring back against the windshield, because it might leave scratches. Put the end of the wiper arm against the windshield. To set up, move the wiper arm off the windshield, slide the new blade's notched retainer toward the pivot point on the arm and insert the hook through the top of the wiper blade until it snaps into the pivot block. Bring the pivot block/latch into the hook formation and let the latch release tab 'click' in place, then carefully place the wiper blade on the glass.
