2004 Dodge Intrepid Intake Manifold Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Lower Intake Manifold on 2004 Dodge Intrepid?
A: You should first let out fuel pressure, then take off the upper intake manifold to service and repair the lower intake manifold. Take out the electrical connectors from the fuel injectors and pull the fuel supply hose off the fuel rail. Following that, remove the screw attaching the fuel rail support bracket to the throttle body support bracket, then the bolts from the fuel rail and remove the fuel rail and injectors together. Take out the attaching bolts from the manifold, remove the lower manifold, look for any damage, cracks, gasket surface damage or warping and inspect each fuel injector port; replace it if necessary. Before you install the head, check and clean the sealing parts on the cylinder head and manifold and reuse unused gaskets. Position the manifold on the cylinder head surfaces and for simpler installation of the upper intake manifold, tighten a bolt about 2 - 3 turns into the farthest attaching hole in the intake's lowest section. Install the rail with injectors and then set the manifold in place by inserting its bolts and tightening them as listed. After that, remove the alignment bolt. Attach the injector electrical connections making sure they do not block the upper part of the intake manifold. After that, screw the support bracket into place, attach the fuel supply hose to the fuel rail and mount the upper intake manifold.
