How to Safely Service the Heater Core with an Active Airbag System on 2004 Dodge Neon?

In order to service the heater core, one should turn off the air bag system by unconnecting the negative battery cable and wait two minutes. Take out the housing of the HVAC, by removing and dismantling, and then lifting out the heater core. Install the heater core again, put the housing back together and install it in the vehicle.
