2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Brake Master Cylinder Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Properly Bleed a Brake Master Cylinder on 2004 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: Installation of a new brake master cylinder should be preceded by bleeding it out with bleed tubes and a plain dowel to activate the pistons. Grasp the brake master cylinder in a vise and pair the open ends of the bleed tubes with each outlet port on the cylinder, immersing the tube ends into the reservoir. Put in brake fluid after the reservoir is clean, then push each cylinder piston in using the wood dowel and then release them to allow them to come back up. Constantly mix the fluid until there are no bubbles left within it.
