How to Maintain Your Rear Shock Absorber on 2004 Dodge Ram 1500?

The first thing to do is lift the vehicle and keep the axle off the ground. Next, unscrew the upper shock bolt and nut, after that the lower shock bolt and nut and then pull out the shock absorber from the back of the vehicle. First, put the shock absorber into the brackets, next pass the bolts through the brackets and the shock absorber, put the flag nut on the top bolt and the nut on the other bolt. Tighten the upper and lower bolt/nuts to 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.), disconnect the support and let the vehicle down when done.
