It's important to note that the right wiper arm is longer, so install each arm on the wiper pivot where it belongs. First, lift the wiper arm to its high point to lift the wiper blade from the glass and release all spring tension on the shaft. Using one hand on the pivot end of the wiper arm, pull back and out the knob. This will remove the wiper arm pivot end from its shaft. When mounting, place the hinge arm so that it is over-center. Every wiper arm should have a keyhole in its pivot end which matches a keyway in the wiper pivot shaft, so make the keys fit. With the pivot smoothly moving, push down on the wiper arm pivot so it fully matches the position of the pivot shaft. This locks the spring-loaded latch into place against the pivot on the arm. Then, with care, lower the wiper arm until the blade touches the windshield.
