2004 Dodge Ram 3500 Window Regulator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Repair and Maintain a Window Regulator for the Rear Door on 2004 Dodge Ram 3500?
A: The first thing to do is to pull out the inner belt molding and remove the waterdam. Replace the manual crank for the door, then open the door glass to the appropriate place. Take out the two nuts connecting the glass to the regulator under the speaker and through the sight window and remove the glass from the regulator. Open the door glass all the way and support it from the top with a wooden wedge or another equivalent. Reduce the amount of pressure in the window and get rid of the two stabilizer nuts that hold the regulator to the door. After that, remove the bolts holding the window regulator to the door and gently loosen the regulator bolts at each end. Move the window regulator up' to remove the bolts and then pull the regulator through the door opening. When installing, pass the regulator through the door opening and make doubly sure the two bolts are fixed to the door's upper edge. Position and tighten the two window regulator bolts that hold the regulator to the door and tighten the remaining four fasteners to 10 N.m (89 in.lbs.) Put the regulator stabilizer on the door and install the two nuts, using 10 N.m (89 in.lbs.) torque. Move the window regulator to where it should be and take out the manual window crank. Supports the glass and get the wedge out. Put the door glass lined with the window regulator, apply the two nuts through the sight window and the speaker opening and tighten them to 10 N.m (89 in.lbs.). After that, install the waterdam and the inner belt molding once more.
