  A: Before servicing the water pump, remove the negative battery cable and drain the cooling system. Eliminate the viscous fan clutch, take away the gas lines from the brackets near the water pump and break away the coolant hoses. Take off the cap from the belt guide pulleys, then remove those pulleys. Afterward, undo the bolts holding the water pump and remove the pump itself. Make sure the old accessory drive belt is removed, then tighten the bolts to 14 Nm (124 inch lbs.) for M8 bolt and to 20 Nm (177 inch lbs.) for M6 bolts when securing the water pump to the timing cover. The washer should be behind the guide pulley, so install the guide pulleys after that and tighten their bolts to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.). Attach the coolant hoses back to the water pump, secure them with clamps and then attach the fuel lines to the brackets. Replace the accessory drive belt and viscous fan clutch, seal the radiator and engine drain plug and fill the cooling system to the right level while looking for any leaks.
