  A: The first step to servicing the wagon's rear wiper motor is to disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. Eliminate the wiper arm and the liftgate panel, then get rid of the three screws holding it in place. Remove the connector from the electrical harness and take out the wiper motor from inside the liftgate. If you find damage, brittleness or deformation on the wiper motor shaft to liftgate seal, exchange it so that the arrow points upward. Place the wiper motor in the liftgate and use mounting nuts to secure it, while torquing them to 8 N.m (70 in.lbs). Put the electrical harness connector back, fit the lower liftgate panel and attach the rear wiper arm, tightening the nut to 18 N.m (13 ft. lbs). Last, put the negative cable back onto the battery.
