- Q: How to Maintain and Fix the Rear Door Weather Strip on Coupe and Convertible on 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser?A: For service and repair of the rear door weather strip, first open the front or rear door, then remove the door opening sill plate for the coupe option or the door sill scuff plate for the convertible option. When using a convertible, pull out the four push pin fasteners at the B-pillar end before taking out the weather strip from the vehicle. Starting at the upper B-pillar corner and engaging the weather strip to the fence, place it down and along the headliner, then move along the A- or C-pillar as the lower B-pillar is moved, taking any loose material to the front and checking it seals as it continues along the sill. Set the weather strip in place so it is properly aligned, then fasten four push pin fasteners at the B-pillar end before installing the door sill scuff plate again.
