How to Service and Repair the Neutral Safety Switch for the 40TE Automatic Transaxle on 2005 Chrysler Sebring?

A first step in servicing the Transmission Position Switch/Sensor of a 40TE Automatic Transaxle is to remove the valve body assembly from the transaxle. After that, use a screwdriver to release the screw holding the sensor in and take out the sensor from the valve body. Take out the TRS from the manual shaft. For installation, place the transmission range sensor (TRS) onto the valve body, fasten it using a screw and tighten it to 5 Nm (45 inch lbs.). After that, install the valve body on the transaxle.
