To service the thermostat housing on a 2.4L engine drain the cooling system, remove the thermostat, disconnect the coolant sensor and heater hose and remove the housing together with the gasket. Clean surfaces, reinstall gasket, housing, tighten bolts to 28 Nm and reconnect components before refilling the system.
