2005 Dodge Caravan Thermostat Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Thermostat on 2005 Dodge Caravan?
A: Before servicing or repairing the thermostat, empty the cooling system until it is below the level of the thermostat. Next, release the upper radiator hose from the coolant outlet housing, take out the bolts from the housing and slide the housing away. Take the thermostat out and throw away the gasket, then clean both of its sealing areas. Before installation, put the gasket, dipped in clean water, onto the surface of the coolant outlet connector and place the thermostat so that its air bleed is at 12 o'clock in the thermostat housing. Place the few cooling system bolts around the sensor and tighten to the proper torque. After that, install the radiator upper hose to the coolant outlet housing and make a refill in the cooling system.
