2005 Dodge Dakota Headlight Bulb Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace a Headlight Bulb on 2005 Dodge Dakota?
A: First, you should remove the battery negative cable to service the headlamp bulb. Remove the front lamp unit from under the front fender. Attach your hand to the headlamp bulb socket on the back of the front lamp unit housing, rotate it away from you about 30 degrees, then pull the socket and bulb straight out of the keyed hole. It is important to check the correct size and type of bulb for installation so there is no chance of overheating. Do not touch the bulb glass with your bare hands and be sure it does not contact anything greasy. Raise the headlamp socket and bulb so they fit into the keyed opening at the rear of the front lamp unit, secure the socket and bulb all the way in and turn the socket clockwise about 30 degrees to lock. Put the front lamp unit back onto the front fender and link the battery negative cable once more.
