2005 Dodge Magnum Driveshaft Center Support Bearing Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service a Driveshaft Center Support Bearing on 2005 Dodge Magnum?
A: Before removing the input shaft from the driveshaft center support bearing, note that the spline design has a "skip-tooth" arrangement. Then, mark the front and rear segments so they fit correctly back in. At the bearing, cut the vehicle in half just below the axle and take out the boot from each segment. With an arbor press and the special tool called a Bearing Splitter 1130, press off the driveshaft center support bearing at the rear shaft segment. Assemble the rear half into the press with support from the joint yoke, then install the complete bearing assembly. Attach the bearing assembly to the shaft with Tool C-4735-1, take the shaft out of the press and put the boot onto the rear shaft segment. There should be no shift in the index marks, so put the front segment onto the rear and thusly put the boot onto the front and seat it in the groove. At last, install the propeller shaft into the vehicle again.
