How to Properly Remove and Install a Wheel Cover on 2005 Dodge Neon?

The first thing to do is lift the vehicle before proceeding. Be sure not to try and pry the bolt-on wheel cover off when removing it. Unthread and remove the 5 nuts that hold the wheel and wheel cover in place on the car. Be sure to remove the wheel cover without dropping the tire and wheel assembly. When doing the installation, be careful that the back of the wheel makes good contact with the brake disc or drum; do not put oil or grease on the wheel studs or nuts. Assemble the wheel and tire on the wheel studs without mounting nuts, make the notch on the wheel cover line up with the valve and attach the wheel cover to the studs mounted on the hub. Install each wheel mounting nut a little at a time and make sure you switch back and forth between each side. Ease down the vehicle and tighten the 5 nuts of each wheel mount halfway, then tighten them all to 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.).
