How to Service and Repair a Front Door Latch Assembly on 2005 Dodge Ram 1500?

Raise the window to the top spot and then pull off the door trim panel to fix or repair the front door latch. After that, move the waterdam out of the way and take the rod off both the interior door handle and the actuator linking to the door latch. Before taking your door latch out, disconnect the door wire harness connector from the door latch, remove the three bolts fastening it to the door and then take the latch out. Attach the lock latch into the door and tighten the three bolts by turning them 10 N.m (89 in.lbs.) with a torque wrench. Link the door wire harness connector to the door latch and then join the actuator rod to the door latch and to the interior handle actuator. Move the waterdam to the place over the door and set the door trim in place, applying pressure to the latch as you go.
