How to Maintain and Repair a Fuel Tank on 2005 Dodge Ram 2500?

Make sure to drain and remove the fuel tank before handling repair or servicing the tank itself. Notice the top indexing arrow to see the rotation of the module. Place Special Tool 9340 into the edges notches located around the lockring. Put Tool 9340 together with a 1/2 inches drive breaker bar. Turn the breaker bar counter-clockwise to remove the lockring and let the module come up a bit. Remove the module by lifting it out of the fuel tank to prevent the float arm from bending. Whenever you replace a motorcycle cover, put a new rubber seal (gasket) in place. After putting the lockring on the module, set the seal over the top and install the module into the tank's opening. Adjust the module until the alignment arrow match the center alignment on the tank lid to protect the float from getting near the side of the tank and assure that the fuel inlet on top is facing to the driver's side in the car. Screw Special Tool 9340 into the lockring and secure a 1/2 inches drive breaker onto it. Rotate the lockring clockwise until you see it go up into all seven notches and then reinstall the fuel tank.
