How to Service and Repair a Fuel Tank's Level Sensor on Dodge Ram 2500?

Remove the fuel first by emptying and disconnecting the tank before handling the fuel level sensor. Use the indexing arrow at the top of the module to see its rotational position. Insert Special Tool 9340 into the openings that are along the outside of the lockring. Place 9340 onto your breaker bar with the assembly turned in a clockwise direction. Remove the lockring by turning the bar in a counter-clockwise motion and the module will spring up. Take out the module from the fuel tank without putting any bend on the float arm. Replace the old rubber seal with a new one as you install the module in the opening in the fuel tank. The side arrow on your fuel pump module should align with the mark inside the module which will place the fuel fitting on the driver's side of the vehicle. Secure Special Tool 9340 to the lockring and turn the 1/2 inch drive breaker clockwise until you hear the seventh notch engage. Then, reinstall the fuel tank.
