How to Maintain and Fix a Universal Joint with an Injected Ring on 2005 Dodge Ram 2500?

Place the shaft yoke in a vise to start the service and repair with the injected ring universal joint. Set the U-Joint press so that the receiver is on the propeller shaft yoke and press out the bearing caps from the shaft yoke. Take off the lower bearing cap, turn the shaft over and repeat the pressing process for the other U-Joint bearing cap. After removing the shaft yoke and both the U-Joint and flange, set the U-Joint press on the receiver over the flange and push the U-Joint bearing caps outward, taking out the outer one first and then the inner one. When assembling, set the new joint in the flange with one bearing cap, then hold the receiver on the outside of the flange and cap and press using the press until you can see the ring groove. On the first bearing, add the snap ring and repeat for the other bearing cap. Put the flange with the U-Joint into the yoke and position the press and its two parts on the yoke while pushing the press and the lower bearing cap until you can see the snap ring groove. Slip the snap ring into place after the groove is showing at the back of the lower bearing cap. Finish by putting the pressing and snap ring on the third bearing cap as well.
