How to Service the Axle Shaft on a 10 1/2 AA Rear Axle on 2005 Dodge Ram 3500?

The first step in servicing a 10 1/2 AA rear axle is to take out the bolts from the axle shaft flange. After you remove the bolts, remove the axle shaft from the tube and get rid of the axle shaft gasket. Before installing, either replace the axle flange bolts or clean those already on your vehicle and use Mopar Lock N' Seal or Loctite 242 on their threads. Wipe down the axle flange and the inside of the hub and after that place a new axle shaft gasket in position. Put the axle shaft back into its tube and tighten each axle shaft flange bolt to 129 Nm (95 ft. lbs.).
