How to Replace a Headlight Bulb on 2005 Dodge Ram 3500?

The first step for servicing the headlamp bulb is to disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. Take out the front lamp unit from the front fender. Turn the back shroud of the lamp unit clockwise slightly to rotate the lock ring. Lift the lock ring and socket straight up out of the keyed opening in the housing and pull the socket and bulb off the lock ring. Choose the correct sized and type of bulb during installation so no parts are overheated. Insert the bulb and socket into the special slot of the front lamp unit housing. Put the lock ring on the base of both the socket and bulb, pushing down until it is snug. Gently turn the lock ring clockwise to lock the battery, attach the front lamp to the fender and finally plug the battery's negative cable back in.
