  A: Removing the three screws from the key cylinder cable bracket is the first step in service or repair of the trunk/liftgate latch. Draw the shape of the latch onto the decklid with a grease pencil which will serve as a guide for installing it. After that, undo the bolts that hold the latch to the decklid and take the latch from the vehicle. To install the latch, secure it onto the vehicle again and start attaching the bolts only loosely. Match the decklid latch up with the previous marking on the decklid and tighten the bolts to a force of 12 N.m (9 ft.lbs.). Set the lock cylinder bracket back into place and fix it with the three screws. Check and adjust the way the decklid is positioned and closed after everything else is complete.
