How to Maintain and Fix a Hood Latch on 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

First, use a grease pencil or something similar to mark where the hood latch is on the upper radiator crossmember. Take out both nuts holding the hood latch to the upper radiator crossmember and release the cable attached to the hood latch from the hood. When installing, attach the hook at the anchor point, secure it on the radiator crossmember at the latch's top and tighten the two nuts loosely. Position the hood latch above the radiator crossmember, according to the marks made earlier and tighten the bolts to 27 N.m (20 ft.lbs.). Should you need to, place the hood in its proper position.
