- Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Door Handle on the Front Exterior on 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee?A: Before repairing or ensuring the front door exterior handle, first take out the door glass. Following this, separate the rod ends from the front handle. Take away the three bolts connecting the exterior handle to the front door and remove the handle. If hazards are present, remove the lock cylinder from the front exterior door handle. In case the lock cylinder was taken out, install it into the driver side front exterior handle. Fix the exterior handle to the front door so that its mounting hole matches the door's gap and then insert and screw in the three bolts while tightening them to 7 N.m (60 in.lbs.). Connect the rods from the actuators to the handle on the door and mount the glass back into the door frame. If required, modify the front door latch.
