- Q: How to Maintain and Fix the Rear Door Window Glass Weather Strip on 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee?A: To take care of the rear door window glass weather strip, remove the watershield first. After that, remove the weather strip from inside the rear glass run channel. Make sure the top bolt in the rear glass run channel is inserted into the working hole in the upper section of the door panel, then use a wrench to unbolt the bolt running along the bottom of the glass channel from the lower section of the door panel. Lift the rear glass run channel at the top of the door to free the top bolt from the whole and then take the run channel off the door. During installation, fit the rear glass run channel onto the rear door and put the top bolt into the keyed location inside the door. Install the two bolts at the bottom and at the top and tighten both screws to the specified value of 8.5 N.m (75 in.lbs.). Afterwards, insert the weather strip into the run channel at the rear glass and add the watershield.
