2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Weather Strip Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix the Front Door Window Glass Weather Strip on 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: You should start by removing the outside rearview mirror and the front door glass to service the front door's window weather stripping. After that, pull out the weather strip through the front channel under the glass. Take out the nut (2) holding the front glass run channel's (1) top portion to the inside door panel, then undo the screw (3) at the bottom of the run channel on the keyed hole on the inside panel. Pull the front glass run channel up along the door, out of the keyed hole and remove it from the door. During installation, fit the front glass run channel (1) onto the frame and slide the weather strip into the channel. Insert the screw (3) into the keyed hole in the panel for the front door and then attach the nut (2) that holds down the top of the front glass run channel to the panel. Tighten the nut to a torque of 7.5 N.m (65 in.lbs.). Fasten the nut at the base of the front glass run channel inside the door to 7.5 N.m (65 in.lbs.), insert the front door glass and reinstall the outside rearview mirror.
