2006 Chrysler Crossfire Radiator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Radiator on 2006 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: Before you start, turn off the negative battery cable, unfasten the radiator fan and empty the cooling system. Next, remove the air cleaner inlet tubes, disconnect the upper radiator hose, the lower radiator hose, coolant recovery reservoir hose and the two transmissions cooler lines. Fit your fingers with a tool to get a good grip on the radiator hold down clamps (2) and gently pull them out of the mounting holes. Take out the condenser retaining bolts (1) from the radiator support and then carefully lean the radiator back toward the engine as you lift it out of the car. For cleaning the radiator, spray cold water and compressed air on its backside to remove debris. Examine the fins on the radiator and the outer plastic tanks to make sure there are no cracks, bent fins or leaks. Install the radiator in the vehicle, attach the lower radiator hose (2), coolant recovery reservoir hose (1) and transmission cooler line (3). When done, tighten the transmission cooler line to 10 Nm (89 in. lbs.). Attach the upper radiator hose (1) to the transmission cooler line (1) and bolt the radiator retaining clamps (2) with a suitable tool (1). Install the two bolts (1) on the condenser retainer into the radiator support, tightening them to 10 Nm (89 in. lbs.), then add the radiator fan and air inlet tubes. Put coolant in the system, attach the negative cable to the battery, start up the engine, look for leaks and see if the coolant is low again.
