2005 Chrysler Crossfire Radiator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Effectively Maintain and Repair a Radiator on 2005 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: First remove the negative battery cable, take the radiator fan out and drain the entire cooling system for radiator repairs. Following this, remove the air inlet tubes, unhook the upper radiator hose (1), take out the lower radiator hose (2) and take both the coolant recovery reservoir hose (1) and transmission cooler lines (3 and 1) from automatic transmissions. Grab the proper tool and lift up the radiator hold down clamps (2) to remove them from the holes. Take away the four condenser retaining bolts (1) securing the radiator support and then gently tilt the radiator toward the engine so you can lift it out. For cleaning the inside, apply a stream of cold water and pressurized air behind the radiator to sweep out the dirt and dust. Examine the radiator fins to make sure they are not bent or damaged and make sure there are no cracks, damage or leaks on the plastic end tanks. Velcro attach the radiator to the mount inside the car, join the lower radiator hose (2), coolant recovery reservoir hose (1) and transmission cooler line (3) and tighten these connections to 10 Nm. Attach the upper radiator hose to the transmission cooler line, put in the radiator clamps and secure them using a tool. Position the two condenser retainer bolts (1) into the radiator support and fasten them to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.), after which add the radiator fan and connect the air inlet tubes. Replenish the cooling fluid in your car, reattach the negative battery cable, start the car, search for any coolant discharge and test the fluid level again.
