2006 Chrysler Sebring Wiper Motor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Replace and Service a Wiper Motor on 2006 Chrysler Sebring?
A: Before you remove the wiper motor, isolate the battery's negative cable by disconnecting it. Take off the wiper motor assembly, then remove one nut that holds the linkage crank on the shaft and pull the crank out as well. After that, take out the rubber grommet from the shaft, then remove the bolts that hold the linkage assembly together and at last remove the motor. Take off the nut and bolts, link the electrical connector to the motor, reattach your battery and move the motor to its park position. After you've removed the negative battery cable and the motor electrical connector, place the motor onto the linkage assembly, then add the motor retaining plate above the motor shaft. Have all the motor retaining bolts installed, each torqued to 9 ± 1 Nm (80 ± 9 in lbs.) and then install the motor shaft grommet. Make sure the crank is level with the linkage arm so it rests over the hole in the crank when correctly placed. Fasten the crank onto the motor shaft, then begin the nut and turn it so it reaches 18 ± 2 Nm (159 ± 18 in. lbs.). Install the wiper motor assembly back onto the car, reconnect the battery's negative cable, close the hood and test vehicle and system performance.
