2006 Chrysler Town & Country Thermostat Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Thermostat for Engine Coolant on 2006 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: Before starting, drain the cooling system down to below the thermostat housing. Take out the upper hose from its place connected to the coolant outlet. After that, remove the coolant outlet connector bolts and the connector and pull the thermostat from the outlet connector. Throw away the gasket and clean where it was placed between the hood and the rest of the engine. Carefully remove the metal from the outlet connector hole which previously held the original thermostat in place. You don't need to restake the replacement. Insert the thermostat into the coolant outlet connector so that both of its notches are in line with the connector for correct thermostat air bleed placement. Carefully put the new gasket over the thermostat and connector. The thermostat should be in the right spot in the recess. Install the connector assembly and thermostat onto the intake manifold, tighten all bolts to 28 Nm and 250 inch lbs. After that, attach the upper radiator hose to the coolant outlet connector and put the needed coolant into the system.
