2006 Dodge Grand Caravan Fuel Rail Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service a Fuel Rail on 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan?
A: Before you start servicing the fuel rail, discharge the fuel system pressure. Remove the negative cable from the battery and get rid of the upper intake manifold. Placing a suitable cover on the intake manifold is necessary during maintenance. Unscrew the quick connect fitting from the chassis tube and wrap a shop towel around the hoses, in case the gasoline leaks out. After that, remove the bolts that Secure the fuel rail to the engine and gently remove the fuel rail so as not to harm the injector O-rings. Before installing, make sure the injector holes are spotless and change any useful inserts that have become damaged. Greasing the injector O-rings with a suitable drop of engine oil makes it easier to put them in place. Pick up a tire injector, insert it through its port in the wheel assembly and push the whole thing down until each injector is secure. Insert and tighten each fuel rail mounting bolt to 22 N.m or 200 in. lbs. After you're done with the lower intake manifold, clean the top surface before setting the upper intake manifold on top. Put the fuel hose quick connector fitting through the frame tubes and push until it sounds like a click is made, then pull the fitting to ensure it's in all the way. After that, attach the negative cable to the battery and use a Drbiii(R) scan tool to pressurize the fuel system, looking for leaks.
