  • Q: How to Maintain and Repair a Power Steering Reservoir on 2006 Dodge Ram 1500?
    A: Your first step in maintenance should be to drain and siphon the power steering liquid out of the reservoir. After that, take out the serpentine belt along with the power steering pump before taking care of the reservoir mounting bolts to take the reservoir. On top of that, remove the rear bracket bolt ring from the pump mounting bolts. Attach the power steering reservoir bracket to the pump housing with o-rings and secure the bolts to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.). By doing this, you'll make sure that the reservoir is flush against the pump. After that, assemble the power steering reservoir on the pump body bracket and lock it in place by tightening the mounting bolts to 13 Nm (120 inch lbs.). Fix the power steering pump again and tighten the serpentine drive belt before filling the system with steering power.
