2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Air Filter Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain Your Air Filter for Optimal Performance on 2006 Dodge Ram 2500?
A: Unclip the air filter cover clamp and take off the air duct connected to it. Take out the four spring clips from inside the cover, disconnect the housing cover from the housing tabs and take it away. Then, pull out the air filter, clean inside the housing and put the filter back in. To detach the housing assembly, loosen the clamp, remove the air duct from the cleaner cover and lift up the whole unit from its pins. To set up, add the filter to its housing, place the cover-part into its tabs and secure them with spring clips. Attach the air duct back to the air cleaner cover and screw on the hose clamp until it reaches 3 Nm (30 inch lbs.) pressure. All other hose clamps on the air intake system should be tightened to 3 Nm (30 inch lbs.) and if bolts were removed from the air resonator housing or air intake tubing, tighten those to 4 Nm (40 inch lbs.). After that, slide the filter housing into place on the locating pins.
