How to Service and Repair a Hood Latch on 2006 Dodge Ram 3500?

For the hood latch repair and service, mark its position on the upper radiator crossmember with a grease pencil. Securely remove the two bolts binding the hood latch to the crossmember and disconnect the hood latch cable from the latch. To install, join the hood latch cable with the hood latch, move the latch up to the radiator crossmember and put in the two bolts, but don't tighten yet. With the radiator crossmember used as a reference, place the hood latch on top and tighten the bolts to 11 N.m (8 ft.lbs.). When needed, set the hood to the right position for you.
