2006 Dodge Ram 3500 Power Steering Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Power Steering Hose on 2006 Dodge Ram 3500?
A: Before servicing and repairing the pressure hose, drain and siphon the fluid in the power steering and then support the vehicle so it does not lower. Take the pressure hose off the feed line on the pump and the filler line on the gear and take it out from the car. Always make sure the pressure hose is pointed at the chamber so it doesn't come into contact with the fan shroud or frame rail. Put the pressure hose back on your vehicle at the same points, tightening it by each end to 32 Nm (23 ft. lbs.) at the gear and to 31 Nm (23 ft. lbs.) at the pump. When it's done, remove the support, lower the vehicle and fill the power steering system again.
