How to Service a Belt Tensioner on 2006 Dodge Sprinter 3500?

To service the drive belt tensioner first remove the accessory drive belt and the A/C compressor drive belt. We then remove pin 2 to help relieve the belt tensioner tension. Then extract bolts 4 which secure belt tensioner 5 to the engine block and remove belt tensioner 5. For installation position the belt tensioner 5 on to the engine block and fasten with bolts 4, torquing them to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.). Next install pin 2 and lock the belt tensioner in place, then install the accessory drive belt and the a/c compressor drive belt.
