2006 Dodge Stratus Oil Pan Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service an Oil Pan on 2006 Dodge Stratus?
A: To change the oil in the oil pan, remove the negative battery lead, put the car on a hoist and drain the oil. After that, take out the structural collar and torque reaction bracket, then the bolts connecting the oil pan and finally remove the oil pan. Make sure to wash the oil pan and fully clean all seals before starting. To put the oil pan gasket into the block, spread RTV GEN II at the oil pump to engine parting line and let it dry for 30 minutes. Slide in the oil pan and make sure the screws are secure at 12 Nm (105 inch lbs.), then fasten the structural collar and torque reaction bracket. After that, bring the car down to the ground, install the right engine oil and attach the negative battery cable.
