2006 Dodge Viper Instrument Cluster Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the Instrument Cluster on 2006 Dodge Viper?
A: Start by lifting the deck lid and using the four bolts to detach the battery compartment cover, then pull it off. Unplug the air bag system negative battery cable and wait for two minutes for the reserve capacitor to discharge before starting any work on the air bag or instrument panel components. Then remove the cluster bezel, glove box and glove box striker and complete the step by unscrewing the two screws to the left of the glove box opening. Remove the three lower trim screws from the instrument panel and pull off the trim as you disconnect the glove box light cable. Put the instrument panel right lower trim in place by using the supplied five screws. Following this, insert and secure the glove box with the three specified screws. Attach the electrical connector to the cluster bezel, lay the bezel over the retaining slots and push to secure. Always attach the electrical connector to the instrument panel center bezel and secure it with six screws. Put the electrical connector on the center console, arrange it and add eight screws. After that, attach the floor console bezel and parking brake body and then attach the shifter shaft and knob, fixing them with six allen screws. Attach the battery negative cable back to the battery, slot the battery access cover in place and use the four included bolts to affix everything. After closing the deck, confirm that the vehicle and electronics are both working properly.
