2006 Jeep Commander Fog Light Bulb Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Rear Fog Light Bulb on 2006 Jeep Commander?
A: You should disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable before servicing the rear fog lamp bulb. Take out the rear fog lamp housing by sliding under and behind the back of the bumper. Squeeze and twist the socket at the bottom of the housing counterclockwise about 30 degrees to free it and then pull the socket and bulb straight out through the keyed hole. Take off the base of the bulb from when it is in the socket. Pick the appropriate bulb for your security light so you do not damage it or cause overheating during use. There are two rear fog lamp sockets and you can get to both by going under and behind the rear bumper fascia. Adjust so that the bottom of the bulb is over the socket and then push gently until it is totally seated. Place the socket and bulb into the bottom of the rear fog lamp housing where it has a keyed opening, push them in until the socket seats securely and then turn the socket clockwise about 30 degrees to lock it. Lastly, attach the battery's negative cable to its terminal.
