  A: The first thing to do when servicing the intake manifold is to disconnect the negative battery cable. After that, take out the air cleaner housing and the mass air flow sensor. After that, disconnect the fuel rail together with the fuel injectors. Seal off and take out the vacuum lines that are linked to the EGR valve, brake booster, crankcase ventilator and purge valve from the intake manifold. After that, remove the engine harness connector and the EGR pipe at the EGR valve. Take out each of the air pump switchover valves after that and also take off all of the bolts holding the intake manifold and the gaskets.
