2007 Dodge Dakota Fuel Tank Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain a Fuel Tank on 2007 Dodge Dakota?
A: Before handling the fuel tank unit, let the fuel system's pressure out, because it doesn't drop when the engine is off. Drain and take out the fuel tank first. Notice the position of the rotor within the pump module by using the indexing arrow printed at the top of the module. Place Lockring Remover/Installer 9340 against the notches on the lockring for the best fit. Attach a 1/2 inch breaker bar to Lockring Remover/Installer 9340 and rotate the breaker bar left to remove the lockring. Speaking of the lockring, once it is off, the module will rise a little, making it easier for you to remove the module without bending the float arm.
