2007 Dodge Grand Caravan Power Steering Pump Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install and Service a Power Steering Pump for a 3.3L/3.8L Engine on 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan?
A: The installation process begins with placing the pump into the car in the exact order you followed for its removal. Put the pump into place on the mounting bracket and attach the three nearest mounting bolts, tightening them to a torque of 40 ft. lbs. Earlier in the process, check the O-ring on the power steering pressure hose for damage and fix it if needed. Following that, join the power steering fluid pressure line to the pump's pressure output fitting without screwing the tube nut shut for now. Connect the supply hose to the fitting and ensure the hose clamp is correctly placed. Lift the vehicle and mount the routing clip for the pressure hose on the engine and then tighten it with a fastener. Once you've finished the bracket, install the serpentine drive belt and the splash shield and then lower the car. Now that the head is lowered, tighten the pressure line to the pump pressure fitting tube nut to 31 Nm (275 in. lbs.). Connect the wiper module and hook the negative battery cable back to the negative battery post. Furthermore, start the engine and see if any steering fluid comes out from the connection area.
