Apply strong lubrication over the threaded ends of the tool before installing the ball joint. First, push the ball joint (3) into the upper control arm (4) using press tool C-4212-F (1), driver tool 9652 (2) and receiver tool 8445-1 (5). On the next step, add the upper ball joint to the knuckle, use the retaining nut to secure it and tighten it up to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.) for 1500 series and an additional 90° turn or tighten it to 68 Nm (50 ft. lbs.) for HD. From the wheel speed sensor, plug one side to the knuckle (HD) and the other to the upper control arm (LD), after which you can set up the tire and wheel. When done, disconnect all the supports, hub the vehicle and align your wheels.
